A camera for a 17 year old girl to take photos of times with friends/family etc...?

I want to take more photos because I dont take many & i know i will regret it one day.
I want to buy my self a camera- not one for photography as a hobby or anything, just one i can use in everyday life when out with friends or family or doing anything really....
any suggestions? I want a decent one!
Also, i dont really want to pay any more than £150...

Canon Powershot A1100 IS also around 100 pounds.

Great camera, great photos and uses AA sized batteries. If your rechargeable AA batteries fail you can always use regular AA batteries available everywhere.
