Please tell what is difference between a simple flash and LED Flash..Some New Samsung Mobile Are Equipped with LED Flash So what does it means???
LED flash is cheaper to manufacture. That's the real difference. They 'market' them as fancy new LED flashes because LED is something of a buzzword.
People like buzzwords.
Fact is, they're nowhere near as good as good old xenon flash tubes. Which, by some, might be referred to as 'simple'. In reality, LED's are simpler than xenon tubes, but that's another story.
I am becoming more and more of an LED fan, tbh, and I have some lights for photography that are pure LED and absolutely gorgeous (in photographic terms). They're definitely here to stay - but they're continuous lights and incredibly expensive.
LED's main failure as a flash tube is the flash duration. On a phone, you'd probably never notice it, but they 'warm-up' for a period, maintain brightness and cool-off. This may take 4~5 thousandths of a second. A xenon flash tube, on the other hand, can do all that in 1/10000s or less. There's a whole lot of movement that can be unintentionally captured with an LED 'flash' duration.
The main difference is that a "simple" flash uses a gas filled tube to generate light, while an LED is just that... a light emitting diode.
A xenon flash is much more powerful for a given size, but takes more power to operate. This is why phones are using that little LED blinky light, it uses less power. It is also pretty much useless beyond 2-3 feet.
