What camera should I buy?

I want a camera that's not super advanced like the ones used for heavy duty photography, but I want a Digital Camera that takes REALLY good quality photos and a camera that will last.

Which one's better?
Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony, Olympus, Kodak, Fugifilm, Samsung, Casio, Insignia, or Panasonic?
(I have no knowledge of cameras at all.)

Best Answer

I would suggestion get a Canon, Sony or Nikon, the cameras have a two kind :

1. Point & shoot Digital camera
2. DSLR Camera (digital single lens reflex)

If use for normal get a point & shoot Digital camera, if use for professional get a dSLR (but DSLR Camera is expensive).

These are good point & shoot Digital cameras for price under $200 :

1.Canon PowerShot SD780IS : 12.1-megapixel, 3x optical zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilizer, 2.5-inch widescreen PureColor LCD II screen, Record video in beautiful high definition, Face Detection Self-Timer, Intelligent Contrast Correction, Red-eye Correction, etc.

Well it all depends. You first have to choose some brands that you would like to look at first. Nikon, Canon, and Sony are on the top for quality... and price. lol

But I prefer Nikons better, they are easy to use.

If you have a $500-$1000 budget, get an SLR camera (single reflex lens) they cost a LOT. But if you want your photographs to look good on quality. GET ONE! I own a Nikon D5000 and I am in love with it. Like all SLRS, the pictures that I take are so clear and you can edit them afterward. Note: There are LOTS of features that you are gonna be equipped, so if you want to take photography seriously, this is the one. You can change the how much light you one, make the background blurry, and focus. ;) If you want top quality photos, get an SLR. I definitely liked mine.

However, if you are just the person that likes to takes photos but isn't a serious "photographer", get a point and shoot. Meaning, just plain old Digital cameras. There are lots out there! These are good for casual photography and you just want to take pictures. If you want good quality photos, check out the megapixels and see how good they are. The more the better!

hope this helped ;)))

Yes i agree..it's depend on your budget. But for a person with no knowledge about camera at all, it is best to start with a Digital camera. SLR is more advance and expensive. Try to get the best spec within your budget. I've started with Canon DIIXUS120 IS and on the way to get a SLR

Sounds like you're looking for a 'point and click' as opposed to an SLR (the big professional looking ones). For a really solid point and click expect to spend excess of $200. The Canon PowerShot and the Nikon Coolpix are both good lines of cameras, check out your options here: [URL Truncated]
